Increase the speed of Firefox

If you have a broadband Internet connection and use Firefox you can decrease the time each web page you visit loads by enabling pipelining. Pipelining will make Firefox load more than one request at a time for each page it loads. In other words if the page you are visiting has dozens of images it will load more than one image at a time, making the web page appear faster. Follow the below steps to enable pipelining in Firefox.

  1. In the address bar type about:config and press enter.
  2. In pipelining in the search box, as shown below.
  3. Double-click network.http.pipelining to set the Value to true.
  4. Double-click network.http.proxy.pipelining to set the Value to true.
  5. Make sure network.http.pipelining.maxrequests is set to a value of more than 30.
  6. Right-click in an empty portion of the about:config window and click New and then Integer. Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay as the name of the integer and for the value make it 0.

Send Password Protected Emails

If you have to send some confidental information like credit card numbers,Bank details etc it may not be secure to send it without any encryption and password protection.Hackers can use sniffers to intercept your email messages or they can retrieve the data after hacking email accounts. To protect yourself from such situations you can use Lockibin which provides password protection and AES-256 bit encryption to your emails. How to Send Password Protected Email Messages:
Click here to go LockBin online service. Fill the form with your desired password. In the text filled write your message. You can also attach a file if you want. After this, click on Submit button. Now your password protected mail will be sent. (Receiver will only get a link to your password protected and encrypted email) When receiver clicks on that link it will prompt to enter the password otherwise it will not be open. That’s it! But you have to send password to your friend which can be sent on Mobile number or you can send a normal Email for it.The password protected email is stored in lockbin server itself.

Surfing Safely on Internet

The internet offers so much convenience and any opportunities. Be sure you are using this wonderful tool properly and safely. The unique quality of the internet is that it can be used simultaneously for entertainment, business, communications, education, shopping and anything else we want to do without physical contact. One person can be in one location researching at a library across the globe while chatting with a neighbor or they can be at work monitoring children at home. You get the idea. The internet is a tool that can be used for good or bad purposes depending on the intent of the user. The internet demands the lessons that we learn everyday over a lifetime about recognizing and handling potentially threatening situations to our well-being, our money, our identity, our children and our personal information be applied immediately. The internet does not make exceptions for lack of experience or the young. Dangers are just as real on the internet–not more and not less–as they are in the everyday world. Most persons don’t avoid vehicles because they may have a tragic accident once in a lifetime. We shouldn’t avoid the internet because we may be contacted by a swindler, predator or because it may be a confusing tool. The internet can be a very valuable tool when used properly and safely. Patients can individually receive the expert experience of a doctor in a far away location. Students can take advantage of many libraries instead of only the local library. Shy persons can practice interacting with real people while having the ability to leave when situations are uncomfortable without embarrassment. Family members miles apart can communicate in real-time face-to-face. Businesses can have potentially more customers or clients in more locations than the potential customer or client base in their particular community. When Online Shopping Shopping online can be convenient. People have many different ways of shopping online. Some people get an idea of cost online before purchasing at their local retail store. Others like to browse in retail shops then purchase online because of the delivery convenience. No matter how you shop, be attentive to the age old axiom, “buyer beware.” Try to use only one credit card for online transactions and depositing funds as needed. Try to purchase online from the companies you have already done business with. Avoid responding to emails that promise better quality and/or prices. Avoid any transaction where you are asked to send or receive more money than the transaction requires. Use your everyday know-how to avoid swindlers and becoming a victim of fraud. The same scams and fraud that have been around for centuries now have a lucrative tool to reach more potential victims in much less time. People online are the same strangers you can meet in the grocery store, bar, local business or back alley. Try not to fall prey to unscrupulous individuals. Protecting Your Children Sometimes parents have a difficult time supervising internet activities of their children because they are unfamiliar with the tool. Children typically adapt to new things better than their parents because they don’t know how things were done in the past. The “new” way of learning something for parents is the “first” way of learning something for children. Parents are required to make a correlation between activities everyday and on the internet. For example, if your child is not allowed to stay home alone, they should not be in chatrooms without you physically watching the computer screen. Any child’s profile in a social networking community needs to be reviewed by the parent. The parent also needs to visit the personal pages of all “friends” to be sure they approve of the contact and to be sure no information is posted about their child or neighborhood friends that can identify their school, address or phone numbers. Social networking communities have very good uses for children. For a shy child, they can enhance social interactions. They also can foster a group that is interested in one topic such as music or science. On the other hand, social networking communities can provide a platform for child predators, hate groups and social bullying. So, parents must consistently monitor their child’s online activities to be sure an unsavory person is not targeting their children. Maintain Your Machine We use tools all the time. When we do, we make sure we know how to use them properly and they are in working order. The same is true with the internet. Computer users need to maintain their computer in good working condition. This means we keep the keyboard, laptop, CPU and all peripherals clean, inside and out. We try to avoid computer viruses and infections by using anti-virus software. We try to avoid the electronic snoop by using anti-spyware and encryption with email, files and wireless connections. We should get rid of junk in the computer and hard drive as often as we do in our homes and vehicles. As long as individuals maintain their responsibility for individual safety, parents protect children in the everyday world and online, and individuals are aware of persons trying to benefit through half-lies and false truths, the internet can be as safe or more safe than your local neighborhood.

Make your Browsing faster

The reason why your browser takes time to page loading is because of the cache you have stored. If you would like to run much quicker and smooth, you will need to do delete all of the cache that is taking space on the browser. Browser will respond very slowly if you don’t delete your cache in the right amount of time, I suggest you delete it weekly. Please remember that you’re not using too many tabs, this is another reason why it might be freezing. I recommend you to delete your history as well; it’s very effective in speed. The browser holds every single webpage you have visited; you might even have last year’s history. After deleting the history and the cache, restart your computer and then open up your Google Chrome browser. If you are still experiencing problems, don’t hesitate to comment below.

Internet: Change your IP Address

If you would like to change your IP Address then try each step carefully. There are many reasons why you might want to change your IP Address. Most people change it because they have been IP banned on websites for breaking the terms of service. When you are IP banned you have no access to the site, so you cannot visit the website if you’re IP is blocked. These tips will help you to change your IP Address. If you have a Dynamic IP Address then un plug the cable modem for at least 10 minutes. After ten minutes plug the modem in and be patient till it connects. This will only work if your IP address is dynamic.

Download files from Internet Faster

Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a tool to increase download speeds by up to 5 times, resume and schedule downloads. Comprehensive error recovery and resume capability will restart broken or interrupted downloads due to lost connections, network problems, computer shutdowns, or unexpected power outages. Simple graphic user interface makes IDM user friendly and easy to use.Internet Download Manager has a smart download logic accelerator that features intelligent dynamic file segmentation and safe multipart downloading technology to accelerate your downloads. Unlike other download managers and accelerators Internet Download Manager segments downloaded files dynamically during download process and reuses available connections without additional connect and login stages to achieve best acceleration performance. Internet Explorer Shaking Tip

This is a fun little trick that can create a shaking screen on your web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, etc..) The trick is simply a small Java Script that causes your browser window to move to different positions, causing a shake of your entire screen. It's kind of cool to watch and see what Java Script can do! Try it out.. Use this trick at your own risk. Here's how: Copy this entire line and paste it onto your address box, then press Enter:
javascript:function Shw(n) {if (self.moveBy) {for (i = 35; i > 0; i--) {for (j = n; j > 0; j--) {self.moveBy(1,i);self.moveBy(i,0);self.moveBy(0,-i);self.moveBy(-i,0); } } }} Shw(6)

Trace any website-Hacking Tips

Tracing or Routing a website using command prompt. This tip is only meant for educational purpose. I mainly use this trick to find out the hosting provider where a particular domain is hosted. Follow the below steps: 1. Start->Run->CMD ie; open Command prompt 2. Type the following command and press enter. tracert www.websitename.com in the above command, enter the desired website name. Once you press enter, it tell you where a particular domain is hosted, Location, Country and some details of that domain. Disclaimer: I am not responsible for this trick if this is used in a wrong way. I didn’t invent this method rather I myself found it somewhere else. Do not use this for Hacking purpose.

Design a Great Website

Love to design websites? Square buttons, round buttons, flashy buttons … will they match my shoes, my handbag or my tie? Are you stuck in a maze of buttons, headings, bullets, sub-headings and color schemes?

STOP!!!!

Take a deep breath and read some practical tips for professional looking websites.

1. Select a color scheme and stick to it.
If your company has a logo or preferred colors on its stationery that’s a good start. For those of you starting from scratch, choose two or three complementary colors and stick with them – don’t change colors on every page.

The most common color schemes include:

- Red, yellow and white
- Blue and white
- Red, Grey and white
- Blue, orange and white
- Yellow, Grey and white.

If you’re not sure what color scheme to choose, surf the internet and find a website that you like. You can then model your color scheme on what already exists.

2. Provide an easy to use navigation system.
This is one of the most important issues to consider when designing a website. You need to ensure your visitors can find what they are looking for easily. Most websites either display their navigation bar on the left or at the top. And since most people are used to this type of navigation, it’s best to stick with it.

It also helps to include your navigation bar at the bottom of each page to save your visitors from having to scroll back to the top.

3. Don’t go overboard on special effects
Whilst it is ok to have one or two special effects to jazz up your website, spinning graphics and logos often distract your visitor from the content, not to mention they can take too long to download. Your visitors may click away even before your spinning logo finishes loading.

4. Backgrounds
Ensure your visitors can read the text on the background, ie. no black writing on dark blue background or yellow on white. Also be careful that your links are visible before and after being visited. The default for links in most programs is blue (before being visited) and burgundy (after being visited), so if you have a dark background, ensure your links are light.

5. External Links
It is a good idea to open links to other websites in a new window. That way your visitors can easily return to your site when they are finished browsing the external link

6. Site Map & Search Feature
If you website is more than 15 pages, it is useful to have a site map or a “Search” feature to ensure your visitors can easily find what they’re looking for.

7. Content is King
While it is important that your website looks clean and professional, it is far more important that you concentrate your efforts on the content and promotion.

If you want a professional website, things to stay away from include:

a. Flash intros, revolving globes, beveled line separators, animated mail boxes
b. Loads of pop up or pop under boxes
c. Auto play music. Allow your customer to play music only if they choose.
d. Hit counters of the free variety, which say “you are 27th visitor”
e. Date and time stamps, unless your website is updated daily or weekly
f. Busy backgrounds.

History of Internet

The Internet (as we know it) first got it's start back in 1972, but you have to go back even farther than that... In 1957, Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower saw the need for, and started the Advanced Research Projects Agency (or ARPA) after the Soviet's launched their Sputnik satellite (the first successful man-made satellite).

ARPA, a project of the US Department of Defense, was originally created to develop a non-centralized network that would be able to withstand particular outages (i.e. Nuclear War) and still function when parts of network were not working correctly (or destroyed). This specific project of ARPA was called the ARPAnet.

In 1962, a man by the name of Dr. J.C.R. Licklider was chosen to head ARPA's research. Licklider, the visionary he was, saw that the best way to improve the technology was to move the organization out of private ownership and into the universities. ARPAnet had it's first public demonstration in 1972. After which, the Universities and public researchers greatly contributed to it and other networks.

One of the other networks that later became part of the Internet was called NFSnet, named after the National Science Foundation that created it. It was the brainchild of academic researchers all over the US. In 1985, the NFSnet became the backbone of the internet, transmitting data across the US. This opened the doors for hundreds of smaller, regional networks to join up with it, and form the huge network we have today.

In 1989, ARPAnet was shut down due to lack of military interest and funding.

During the early 1990's, the Internet experienced explosive growth as commercial networks started giving people access to the internet, even indirectly. America On-Line is a good example of one of these networks. AOL customers couldn't access the Internet until about 1991.

The most growth was experienced towards the end of 1994. At that time, it was estimated that the Internet connected some 2 million computers, and served some 23 million users in over 100 countries. And the population doubled every year. It was estimated that by the year 2000, almost everyone in the world would have e-mail access.
